Students want to log out from the online admission process
The online admission announced this year was supposed to make the process simpler for students. But the truth is it was full of glitches. Minor mistakes while filling up forms have left many students in the lurch. DNA experts and students if the procedure really helped them or not...

Won’t secure admission in college of my choice
I did not face much trouble while filling the online form but yes there are discrepancies in the online admission procedure. In the first list, I have to secure admission in the college allotted to me or else I might end up not getting admission in any institution no matter whichever stream I choose. And if my name appears in a college i want then I can withdraw and take admission in the college of my choice. I am not worried as I have good percentage but just hoping that it all works out well.

Instead of making it easy, it created confusion
The whole purpose of having an online admission process was to make it simpler for the students and their parents. But clearly this was not achieved. In fact, it has increased their problems further. I think the authorities should have looked into this matter earlier and should have been ready to face any kind of mishaps. This is a very crucial phase for the students as their future depends upon  and one can not just take things lightly. I hope this problem is solved as quickly as possible.

Nothing can be simpler than online admission

I am very happy with the online admission because it kept me away from the chaotic procedure of filling college forms. It was user friendly and I didn't find any problem while filling the online form. What was even more surprising was when I received a message on my cell phone saying that I had been selected by Jai Hind College. What can be better than this? I always dreamt to take admission in Jai Hind which I got. Later, I want to do BMM from this very college.

Thumbs up to the online process
My admission is done and I got into the college of my preference. I found the online admission process quite convenient but at the same time there were some flaws. Initially, when the first list was announced, they sent messages to people informing about the details of the admission. But did everyone get these messages? My friends got a sms stating which colleges they were allotted but I did not get any such message. The two streams option that they had given did create a lot of confusion. Also, the site was supposed to open at 1pm but it only started functioning after 3:30pm.

The system didn't work for me
The online admission system has put me in a very difficult situation. Considering my marks, I was expecting to get admission in a decent college. I applied in 32 colleges including some vocational courses too. But I haven't got a single call from any of the colleges. I don't know what to do in such situation. I didn't even find the online admission system easy at all. This only has helped us in not going to every college for buying and submitting college form. If I had other options then I wouldn't have gone through the online procedure. The old method was way better.

Expert view
When it comes to taking decisions for key sectors like education we cannot take decisions so abruptly. The online admission process was announced by end of May, when it should have been planned properly at least a year in advance. Then there was 90:10 quota and now there is the ATKT rule. For whatever reasons we are implementing these decisions, it’s surely not creating a good reputation for our educational system. The online admission had to be a clear and smooth process but instead it's just the opposite. Some students have got admissions in multiple colleges, some have got in college that was last on their preference list and they have even got admission in colleges that don't exist.

How ironical that a person sitting in a remote village in India can easily secure admission in universities in UK and US because they have a systematic approach . And here, being in the metro cities, students are facing trouble securing admission in colleges.

I hope the authorities take this as a wake up call and stop  experimenting at the last minute. If this continues the young minds will not have any respect for the education system. Parents should avoid panicking and not lose faith.

Admissions have been further prolonged
The whole process was carried out hurriedly, not much thought was given about the functioning of the online admission process. It is sad to see that students with higher percentage have not cleared the first merit list or their names are not mentioned in any of the colleges of their choice. There are certain glitches in the online admission process that definitely needs to be worked upon.

Parents are calling up frantically asking us about the situation, but we ourselves are not aware of it. And we are not even responsible for this chaos; if it was the college form where a mistake had happened we would have taken the responsibility. But out here we have nothing to do nor are we answerable. This has not only caused an inconvenience to the children and their parents but also to us. We have been informed by the concerned authorities to forward the grievances of the children to the Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited (MCKL). And then they would sit and decide as to what action should be taken.

Due to this, the admissions have been prolonged further. By now we should have started classes. I hope we can resume classes in August otherwise I don't know how we would finish the syllabus. Then they'll add pressure on us to complete the syllabus on time.
