‘I want to know where my child is’

Parents encourage decision to install RFID in schools to monitor students.

Other institutions should install it too
I have two daughters and whenever they get late from school, my wife is on her toes, worrying about them. In the recent past, there have been incidents which have made parents a worried lot. Therefore, it is an excellent move by the school and other institutions should also install RFID technology. Mobiles are not allowed in school, which is good, but parents will like to know about their child's whereabouts.

Should trust students, not spy on them
By introducing technology, the school is changing the concept of education, which is to inculcate values and teach students how to be responsible. Today, children want their parents to be their friends, not spies. How can one expect students to trust anyone? I don't think schools should introduce such systems. Don't want to know where my children are at every minute; I trust them and give them their space.

Don't mind paying more fees for it
A parent will be  worried until his/her child reaches home safely from school. I get paranoid when I am not able to get information about my child's whereabouts. Mumbai is not a safe city and it’s important to know where one is. Now that a school has initiated a system wherein parents can get updates about their child's location, it is the greatest news for me. I won't mind even if a school charges more for it.
