Helping mothers bond with their kids

To strengthen the parent-child bond, Thinking Club has organised workshops.

Helping mothers bond with their kids

Come summer, mothers are on a lookout for various activity classes for their children. However, here is an innovative summer concept that helps children learn an array of activities and along with their mothers.

To strengthen the bond between a mother and her child, The Thinking Club has organised MomSense, a unique summer concept where both can do activities together. The entire focus is on making both parents and kids realise how much fun it is to do things together.

The organisers hope to enhance quality time in the parent-child relationship. Also with family time generally being relegated to watching movies and television soaps, parents will get to experience a different sense of bonding. “Kids value the time spent together. If parents engage with them in an activity, children begin to respect them,” said Reyna Rupani, founder of Thinking Club.

She added, “This will then lead us to avoid so many unnecessary issues, as we cherish the parent-child relationship. In the past, we have held workshops for parents and children separately. This is the first time we will host them together under one roof. A lot of mothers are excited about the idea, since many are clueless as to how they can spend time with their children.”

Usually parents unwind by going to malls, multiplexes or restaurants; but in this workshop kids will also discover the amusement quotient of their mothers. Currently twenty mothers along with their children have registered. “There are various activities on the anvil, to meet the requirement of both entities. I’m sure they will all enjoy drumming, dancing, aqua-aerobics and theatre games apart from painting together. Yoga and a toy making session have been planned,” said Reyna.

Organisers have special trainers for each activity, who are extremely passionate about what they intend to teach. “Suruchi Alok who teaches theatre games has a sound background in the field. Shama is a faculty at the JJ School of Arts. Our choreographer Usha Babur is a dentist by profession is extremely talented. Runa, who will be teaching toy making, is passionate about making children enjoy science.”

Thinking Club has been organising creative workshops for individuals, corporate groups and even schools since the last two years. They also have creative writing workshops which are open to people of all ages. They basically encourage creative thinking and writing, discussions with authors and novelists. “Most of our problems arise because of the wrong thought process and thinking. It is our effort to promote ‘thinking’ as a skill,” informed Reyna.

The first session of MomSense will be held at Classique Club,

Andheri from April 18 to 24 between 2 to 4 pm everyday for. For more details email on contact@thinkingclub.in or call 98201 88871.
