With the augmented-reality mobile game Pokemon Go taking over the world, this song was only a matter of time.
Composed and performed by the Australian band The Stiffys, the song appropriately named "The Pokemon GO song" talks about how the game is taking over lives.
The band members say that the game turned into a global obsession while they were recording their new album ‘Art Rock Two’. They also admitted that they themselves were spending a lot of time playing the game.
"We've been wasting so much recording time playing Pokemon Go much to our producer Steven Schram's frustration, so he said how about we make a song about it. It was the only way he could get us back to work!" said bass player Jason Leigh.
Drummer Adam Stagg said, "We're releasing the song straight away before we've even left the studio so we can be the first band to sing about Pokemon Go."
Aired initially on Australian radio, the song is definitely an upgrade from the jingle of the game, for the next time you are out to "catch 'em all".
