The smallest and fastest moving planet Mercury has now crossed the entire face of the Sun and we will not be seeing it again till the end of 2019. The last time Mercury had crossed the Sun, it was 2006.

The planet took about 7.5 hours to complete the transit.

The mercury transit happened on Monday, and was seen by people all over the world.

In case you did miss it, do not worry. Here are some of the photos from around the world and out of it!

Mercury passes between Earth and the sun only about 13 times a century, its last trek taking place in 2006. Due to its diminutive size, viewing this event safely requires a telescope or high-powered binoculars fitted with solar filters made of specially-coated glass or Mylar. (Photo courtesy - NASA)
