First impressions of the latest television sets from Vu.
Vu announce a new range of television sets at CES 2016. Today we got a chance to take a look at the Indian grown televisions sets in action and here's what we noticed.
1. Vu televisions: Apps
There are many apps you can play around with especially on the higher end -- Opera TV operating system television sets -- from Vu.
2. Vu televisions: Remote for Play series
This simple looking TV remote doubles as a mouse, from my initial experience it works as it's intended. The transition from remote to mouse is done with a simple flick of the wrist. It also includes a mic that is mainly intended for web browsing, according to a technician.
3. Vu televisions: Picture Quality
All the televisions seemed to have decent picture quality for their price bracket but the higher-end 4K models are their top gunners.
4. Vu televisions: Gesture Games
It comes with preloaded games (on the Android OS televisions) which require you to download an app on mobile to play. The app also works like a remote, along with other features like mirroring content from your TV onto your phone.
5. Vu televisions: YouTube, Netflix and Videos on Demand
Except for the Vu 43-inch 4K Smart Gaming TV -- all the televisions from the VU Iconium 4K Ultra HD Series come with a dedicated YouTube and Netflix button. Apart from YouTube and Netflix the range of TVs also have SMH.tv, Red Bull TV and SBS On Demand apps.
6. Vu televisions: Range of Televisions
Their Full HD televisions range from Rs 11,500 to Rs 50,000 and their 4K Ultra HD SMART TV range from Rs 40,000 to 12,0000. Apart from this, VU also launched a single HD ready TV for Rs 16,000 and a HD SMART TV for Rs 21,000.
