NASA has unveiled new findings of exoplanets or ‘planets that orbit stars other than our sun’ at the American space agency’s Headquarters at 300 E Street SW in Washington.

The conference commenced at 1 p.m. EST Wednesday (11:30 p.m. IST on the same day), February 22. During which, NASA announce the discovery of seven Earth-sized planets orbiting the TRAPPIST-1 star which are located 40 light-years away.

The briefing participants of the event included Thomas Zurbuchen, Michael Gillon, Sean Carey, Nikole Lewis, Sara Seager.

Thomas Zurbuchen from the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters, Michael Gillon from the University of Liege, Sean Carey from NASA's Spitzer Science Center, Nikole Lewis from the Space Telescope Science Institute, and Sara Seager from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
