Tourism to get a boost in Pimpri-Chinchwad

To boost tourism in the twin township, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has decided to prepare a draft tourism plan for Pimpri-Chinchwad.

PCMC mayor Mohini Lande and commissioner Dr Shrikar Pardeshi have asked the civic administration to work on such a plan to boost tourism in the areas here.

The mayor and civic chief had recently visited Bird Valley on Bhosari-Telco road to inspect the spot and surrounding areas. Civic officials are planning to develop the 17-acre mine near Bird Valley as an aquarium.

According to civic officials, the draft plan will lay emphasis on further development of the Science Park, Snake Park, Appu Ghar, Durga Devi Hill and Bhakti-Shakti garden to promote them as tourist attractions.

The tourism plan, when in place, is expected to bring long-pending projects such as the Deer Park at Talwade and Statue Park into reality by increasing the speed of developing tourist places in the twin township.
