Road safety week at Pune's Birla hospital

Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital (ABMH), the Chinchwad-based multi-speciality hospital, recently conducted a mock drill of handling accident situations for its staff to mark the road safety week.

The drill was conducted specially for its non-medical staff in the hospital, with three dummy accident situations created. These accident situations included a bike accident, collision of two cars and a trauma situation created by a bus accident.

Teams of Casualty Medical Officers (CMOs) and male nurses from the hospital led by Jagdish Purohit, head, emergency department, initiated the proceedings.

The purpose of the drill was to highlight the importance of attending to accident situations and providing the right and necessary first aid to the patients.
