Police inspector under scanner for land grab

Chakan residents allege inspector Balraj Lanjile used their forged signatures for facilitating his wife's construction firm.

Police inspector under scanner for land grab

A group of Chakan residents and farmers has approached superintendent of police (Pune rural) Manojkumar Lohiya alleging that a police officer, who has set up a construction firm in the name of his wife, has prepared forged documents, consent letters and cheated them of their land.

Sachin Pansare (30) met Lohiya on Monday and complained about inspector Balraj Lanjile.

Lohiya said,  “We have set up an inquiry against inspector Lanjile over fraud consent letter for land. The incident has taken place in 2008 when Lanjile was deployed as an officer in the same area. As per the government norms, an officer has to take prior permission of government when s/he or family members are entering into any land deal taking place in their jurisdiction. We will probe this angle too.”

Meanwhile, Sachin said, “We have a land adjoining Chakan-Shikrapur Road in village Chakan bearing Gut number 1153 in the name of 17 members of our family. All our names are registered in the record of rights. The land adjoining our land towards the west is (Gut number 1154).

The adjacent plot (Gut number 1155) was purchased by the construction firm Balaji Green Valley Home Developers owned by partners Shilpa Pramod Yenge, Chaya Balaji Nagre, Kavita Balraj Lanjile and Pramod Kashinath Ladhe. Having its office at Shivranjan Towers, the firm purchased the sale deed in December 27, 2007.

“On June 20, 2008, one of the firm partners Kavita, wife of police inspector Balraj Lanjile, applied to sub-divisional officer (SDO) Junnar sub-division Khed for non-agriculture permission and approval of building plans which was duly forwarded by SDO Khed to assistant director town planning for technical approval of plans.

“The town planning department made the scrutiny after a month and mentioned that the mandatory nine-metre wide road that has to be pass through both the plots is also covering up 4.5 metre of our land.”

Pansare said, “We sought all this information using the RTI Act,” he said. Farmer Dnyaneshwar who is facing a similar situation said, “Promoters started issuing threats when they came to know that we are filing a police case against them. I have filed a complaint with Shivajinagar police station on Monday.”

Lanjile said, “We have been falsely implicated in this case. My wife is just 10% partner in this development project. The allegations that we have prepared the forged consent letter are incorrect.”
