Pimpri Chinchwad civic body tries to build trust among homebuyers

Concerned about the effect of its ongoing drive against illegal constructions on the present and prospective homebuyers, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has taken steps to spread awareness among property buyers in the twin township.

The civic body plans to upload the list of plots that are reserved as per the development plan (DP), and those that carry building permission for construction on its website. PCMC commissioner Shrikar Pardeshi has asked assistant commissioner Shahaji Pawar to prepare the list and submit the report as the latter has been designated to carry out this project.

Pardeshi said, “To create awareness among citizens, we have decided to upload the list of reserved plots, authorised constructions or permissions granted by civic authorities to any housing project on our website. We are also planning to display the same list at ward offices and civic facilitation centres.”

The civic administration has also decided to relax building permission norms and simplify process to obtain them. At a meeting held recently with builders and architects, Pardeshi apprised them of the new state government directives and government resolutions in this regard.

Pardeshi said, “Efforts will be made to simplify the norms for the benefit of honest builders, architects and citizens. However, those found guilty will be blacklisted and their names will also be uploaded on our website.”
