It seems that the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) water helpline has been of great assistance to the residents. The civic body claims to have solved 304 water complaints out of the 322 complaints received through the helpline over the last 1.5 years.

In the wake of this success, PCMC commissioner Shrikar Pardeshi has appealed to the citizens to use the helpline frequently as it makes the work of the administration easy and enables them to get feedback.

The helpline-6739999 is open daily from 7 am to 3 pm. However, on the occasion of Independence Day, the helpline will remain open from 7 am to 9 pm on Wednesday.

The PCMC helpline can be used only by those who have installed water meters. The divisional office can be selected by dialling numbers 1 to 4, depending on the area in which the citizen resides.

The caller is given a unique complaint number. They are also given details of the junior engineer concerned. Once the problem is rectified, the complainant is informed and the system updates the status.
