After gyms, no new pools in Pimpri Chinchwad

As per its new sport policy, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has decided that no more swimming pools will be constructed in the twin town in future as their maintenance results in huge expenses.

This comes after the PCMC decided to shut down 44 of its 74 gymnasiums recently. In all, there are 10 swimming pools and the work on the 11th one was in progress at Pimpri-Waghere.

The sport committee of the PCMC has given approval for civic administration’s proposal of not constructing the swimming pool.

The PCMC now plans to set up 4 fitness centres in its four zonal wards.
