Second PMPML Pravasi Din sees 57 complaints

Complaints about poor frequency of buses, certain routes having fewer buses and unclean buses was some of the feedback from commuters that Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) received on Saturday on the occasion of ‘Pravasi Din’, observed by PMPML on the first Saturday of every month. PMPML received a total of 57 complaints, of which 51 were written and six were given verbally.

PMPML had started the concept of ‘Pravasi Din’ to address commuter issues. Though earlier it was observed on the first Monday of every month, with the first ‘Pravasi Din’ being observed on September 4, it was later decided to hold it on the first Saturday of every month based on commuters’ demands. This month, therefore, it was observed on October 5.

Deepaksinh Pardeshi, public relation officer of PMPML said, “On the last ‘Pravasi Din’, we had received 36 complaints. Now, however after awareness about such a forum being available to voice grievances, this time we have received 51 written complaints and six verbal complaints in all 10 depots.” The highest number of complaints were received in Kothrud depot.

“Many of the complaints are about low frequency of buses. Some complaints are regarding unclean buses. All the complaints will be taken seriously,” he said.
