25-year-old from Pune molested by drunken man

A 25-year-old woman, working in a city-based firm was molested by a drunken person in Wakad  on Wednesday.

The incident came to light when the victim lodged a complaint at Hinjewadi police station against Kashinath Ramu Khandekar (36), a resident of Mayur Kalate Estate in Wakad under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code.

SN Devre, senior inspector at Hinjewadi police station, said, “Victim was returning back home along with her roommate. Khandekar, who was under the influence of alcohol chased them for a while. Later, he held the victim from behind. When her friend tried to rescue her, he molested her too. He was nabbed after the two raised an alarm.”

Devre added, “Khandekar’s wife and parents have deserted him and he lives on the footpath.”
