Pune gets its first pop-up store in Aundh

For the fashion forward, this is great news. Anjana Sharma, fashion director and COO of Stylista is conducting her first ever pop-up shop in the city. Pune’s popular multi-designer store owned by entrepreneur and socialite, Rasika Wakalkar, is playing host to this two-day fashion activity, which will showcase exclusive designer wear from some of the top fashion designers of the country such as Wendell Rodricks, Priyadarshini Rao, Yogesh Chaudhary, Nishka Lulla, Tanya Sharma, Rinku Dalamal. And the good news is that all these designer outfits will be available for under Rs 5,000. Anjana spoke to us about her debut in the city:

This is your first pop-up store in Pune?
Post a very successful pop-up shop in Mumbai recently, my team was very keen to explore new markets and Pune was a logical choice. The venue and ambiance for a pop-up plays a very important role, and knowing Rasika’s sensibility and take on fashion, it is a no-brainer for us to associate with her. It is also important to get consumers to touch and feel the product to reassure them of basic hygiene factors like quality and fit. Once comfortable, they will not hesitate to shop online. Such pop-ups help break the barrier to online shopping, which is why as a brand, we at Stylista have taken a selective but concrete approach to doing pop-up shops in various cities.

Tell us something about the growing trend of pop-up stores.
As the name suggests, a pop-up shop is a time-bound activity, and builds on the ‘act now or it’s gone’ philosophy, which is true of shopping. It has far more attitude than an exhibition. Pop-ups are more selective, and work on the principle of tightly-curated products specific to the market it is catering to. They bring a lot of value to both a brand as well as a shopper, which is why I think it’s a growing phenomenon in India.

Tell us about the collection on display
It’s a physical manifestation of all that is available on our site. There are highly curated western pret collections from some of India’s best-known designers, including Wendell Rodricks, Priyadarshini Rao and Nishka Lulla, apart from our own private label. Our USP is designer clothing at guilt-free prices, so expect to find a selection of limited edition clothing that’s right for every pocket and preference.

Will the shop have special monsoon creations?
We have over 250 styles for shoppers to choose from, so there’s something for every mood, occasion and season!
