Wheel in spin
Suresh Kalmadi, the CWG organising committee chief, was rebuffed by the prime minister and the Congress president. Jose Brasa, the Indian Hockey coach, was humiliated when not invited by the PM. Verma, the Badminton chief, insults Jwala Gutta by failing to congratulate her after winning the gold medal in the mixed doubles, in spite of being part of the audience at the event.

The opening and closing ceremonies and the overall Commonwealth Games experience, were a display of glory, glitter and glamour and it was Kalmadi’s baby. The infrastructure, roads, bridges, housing, were in the hands of various agencies, including the chief minister of New Delhi, and for which Kalmadi was not responsible. The prime minister kept his word by clearing the decks for a full-fledged investigation. A person is innocent until proven guilty. We should not insult, humiliate and rebuff our fellow Indians and others who raised the bar to a new high and did India proud.

Of jail and bail
Ajmal Kasab can become angry with policemen, spit at the camera and also smile and chuckle during the hearing in the Bombay High Court on the confirmation of his death sentence. De facto, not only Kasab, but the whole world smiles and chuckles at the Indian laws which are unbearably loose not only against the ordinary criminals, underworld, tax evaders and the corrupt babus and netas, but also against the anti-India terrorists like Kasab and many others. The courts work at a snail’s pace giving taarikh pe taarikh. Shockingly, Afzal guru, Abu Salem and Abu Ismail are still roaming scot free and miles away from the gallows by grace of the Indian practice laws of ‘jail and easy bail’ and the a slow
judiciary.

Wasteful strategies
RJD chief contesting alone is nothing but a strategy to form the government with the help of the Congress party as the votes would be split three-ways and there would be a hung assembly. Being an aam aadmi, I expect that an elected government should have a majority to run the government for a full term, lest there would be rebellion, counter rebellion, horse-trading, President’s rule and finally re-election at the cost of tax-payer’s money.
