For homemakers
The edit ‘It’s unpaid work, not unproductive work’ (DNA, July 27), rightly questions the logic of equating housewives with beggars and prostitutes. It’s insulting for women to be compared in such a derogatory manner. If women engaged in home-making have no tangible evidence of income generation so do most public servants who keep on drawing big fat salaries. The very logic of bracketing home-makers on the basis of their direct earnings is flawed as women help create conducive conditions without which their husbands and children cannot work . The government must not allow this to continue.

About terrorism
Apropos ‘Hindu terrorism doesn’t exist’, (DNA, July 27), there is a growing apprehension among Hindus that regular attempts to prevent and demoralise the police, the political and judicial authority from taking any stern actions against Muslim criminals shall only encourage these rogue elements to continue their nefarious designs against our country in future. Also, the coinage of the new term “Hindu terrorist”, has been invented by the pseudo-secularists only to appease the Muslim community.

Communal groups
This is with reference to ‘Kerala CM stands by comment on Popular Front’ (DNA, July 27), Kerala chief minister’s startling revelation on the hidden agenda of a certain outfit is shocking indeed. The successive governments in God’s own country have allowed the communal fringe groups to grow unabatedly, unmindful of the danger that could befall on the state in the long run, just to feather their own nests and protect vote banks. Now it has come to such a pass that even the chief minister is forced to make such a statement. It may not be out of place to mention here that the West Bengal chief minister also expressed similar apprehensions but he was snubbed and the matter was pushed under the carpet.

Top position
The revamped and reinvigorated changes in the recent issues are welcome. However, I have a suggestion. Let Sutra be placed at the top of the editorial column as usual. It’s position at the bottom depreciates its importance to a reader.
