Trident at Bandra-Kurla Complex clocks 70% occupancy on first day

The Oberoi Group today said its newly-opened Trident hotel in the city has recorded an occupancy rate of 70% on December 1, the first day of its opening.

The hospitality chain threw open to guests its ninth Trident hotel in the country yesterday, which is located in the posh Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) — the heart of Mumbai's new financial district.

"The new 'Trident' hotel located within the Bandra Kurla Complex recorded a 70% occupancy on the first day of its opening. Today, on the second day, Trident will record 80% occupancy, with more than 350 guestrooms and suites occupied," the Oberoi Group said in a statement.

Although the hotel has been accepting reservations for stays, meetings, conferences and events since yesterday, it would be formally inaugurated by Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan on December 20.

The Trident offers 436 well-appointed guestrooms and suites, three restaurants, a sushi bar and a wine-tasting room. The extensive meeting and conference facilities at the hotel can accommodate up to 500 persons.

Recreational options include a swimming pool, a spa and a fitness centre. The hotel is equipped with the latest technology, complemented by personalised service. Trident hotels are five-star hotels for business and leisure travellers. It is a part of the BSE-listed East India Hotels Ltd (EIH), which owns and manages the Trident and Oberoi brand of hotels in 27  locations in five countries, including India.

There are eight Trident hotels across India in Mumbai, Gurgaon (Delhi National Capital Region), Chennai, Bhubaneshwar, Kochi, Agra, Jaipur and Udaipur.
