Total payout for Zain Africa assets is $9 billion: Bharti Airtel

Bharti Airtel, the country's top mobile operator, said it would have to pay $9 billion for buying African assets of Kuwaiti telecom Zain.

Bharti said in a statement the payout was based on Zain's estimated net debt of $1.7 billion, and totals previously announced enterprise value of $10.7 billion for the deal.
