Tata Steel's up to $770 million share sale was fully covered by midday on Friday, the last day of the offer, stock exchange data showed.
Most bids were at the top end of the Rs594 to Rs610 price band.
Ahead of the public offer, Tata Steel raised Rs5.08 billion ($111.8 million) from anchor investors, including the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, government of Singapore, and investment units of Fidelity, Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse.
