Stalwarts get their due at IAA

Three head-honchos -- Yogi Deveshwar of ITC, Sam Balsara of Madison World and Piyush Pandey of Ogilvy & Mather were among the advertising and marketing stalwarts honoured at the first International Advertising Association (IAA) Leadership Awards on Saturday.

Information and broadcasting minister Manish Tewari was the chief guest of the evening.
IAA is the world’s only globally focused, integrated advertising trade association with membership representing advertisers, agencies and the media.

In his address, Tewari asked the industry to mull over pressing issues like ad duration in channels, effective viewership measurement, adding that the government will not institute any regulations without consulting the industry.

Among the winners was Bollywood actor Salman Khan who made his first appearance at the awards function. The actor  was named the ‘brand endorser of the year – male’, while Katrina Kaif got it on the distaff side.

Marketers from across 12 categories were among the winners.
