Sistema yet to get 2G notice

Even as the probe into the 2G spectrum scam seems to be progressing with good pace, the companies that are accused of deriving benefit from the alleged scam remain untouched.

Sistema Shyam Teleservices, the Indian mobile telephony arm of the Russian major Sistema, has not been served any notice by any of the agencies concerned, a senior company official claimed.

Atul Joshi, Sistema Shyam’s chief sales officer, said, “We have not received any formal notice at all for cancellation of licence, none so far.”

Joshi was in Hyderabad to roll out the company’s high speed mobile broadband service in eight cities of Andhra Pradesh.

However, he said, the probe into the spectrum scam would not affect its business plans including expansion of its activities.

“Nobody has told us not to launch our operations in new circles,” he said.
