Pre-order bookings for Nissan Micra crosses 1,000 in 4-weeks

Car-maker Nissan Motor India today said that pre-order bookings of its soon-to-be-launched Nissan Micra has crossed 1,000 mark in just four weeks.

       
The bookings for Nissan Micra began at the company showrooms from last week of May. The company has so far received bookings for 1,049 cars, a press release issued here stated.

       
The highest number of bookings has been recorded in Delhi followed by Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Chennai.

       
"We are delighted with this encouraging initial response. With the launch of the new Nissan Micra next month, Nissan will begin an exciting journey in India aiming to provide Indian customers with a full range of products and services," Nissan Motor's managing director and chief executive officer, Kiminobu Tokuyama, said.

       
Tokuyama said that he was confident that the booking trend would continue by mid-July, when the model would be launched.

       
The car would be launched on July 14, the release said.
