Patni signs joint venture with Japan's JR Kyushu Group

Global IT services provider, Patni, has entered into a joint venture with JR Kyushu System, the IT arm of Japan-based Kyushu railway company to provide high-quality, cost-effective IT and product engineering services to the Japanese enterprise market.

The JV company, JR Kyushu Patni Systems, is a 51:49 partnership between JR Kyushu and Patni Japan.

"Patni has been a pioneer in the Japanese market for the last 15-years. Patni’s rich global experience in product engineering services coupled with JR Kyushu’s vast influence in the Japanese market will ensure an exponential growth here," Patni's CEO, Jeya Kumar, said in a statement today.

Patni's vast experience of servicing JR Kyushu Group combined with its global offshore delivery capabilities will allow the new company to respond effectively to the unique needs of Japanese customers. 

It will also expand into other Asian markets in the future, the statement said. 

JR Kyushu will be combining Patni’s high-end technical and sales capability with its domestic expertise to offer quality IT services to customers, it added.
