Paper firms hike prices on rising input costs

Paper makers Ballarpur Industries and West Coast Paper have raised product prices by Rs2,500 to Rs3,000 ($56.5-$67.8) a tonne as cost of pulp, a key raw material, rises globally.              

Ballarpur Industries, India's largest paper maker, has increased product prices by Rs3,000 rupees a tonne from Saturday, a spokesperson told Reuters.                                           

Smaller peer West Coast Paper Mills has raised prices of uncoated paper by Rs2,500 a tonne effective immediately, V Subbiah, vice president of marketing said.
