‘No major complaints from Satyam staff ’
Even as hundreds of employees are being shown the door as part of restructuring at Mahindra Satyam, the ministry of corporate affairs feels all’s well with the affairs at the fraud-hit company.

“We do not have any major complaint coming from employees. We have looked at the pattern of the entire software industry and we find there is nothing unusual as far as Satyam is concerned,” corporate affairs minister Salman Khurshid said.

The minister was responding to a specific query on the way Mahindra Satyam employees are being fired, which was against the spirit of the government taking over the company following founder B Ramalinga Raju’s disclosure about accounting fraud.

On the investigation into Satyam scam, the minister said, there was enough progress made into the issue. “Investigations as far as CBI and MCA are concerned are more or less over. There may be some minor things to be done. I think we have enough material
for successful prosecution and that is the reason the chargesheet was filed. We have permission to file additional chargesheet based on the information made available in the last few weeks.

We had sought a fast track court from the high court and the HC has in principle agreed to that. As soon as the court is notified, the matter will proceed further,” Khurshid said.
There were reports about the new avatar Mahindra Satyam too facing issues related to the scam.

However, Khurshid said, “I don’t think there is any concern about the criminal liability as far as the company is concerned. There are problems about the American litigations including class action suits. They (Mahindra Satyam) are in touch with us for further help. They seem to be doing well and it’s a great tribute to all those who worked on reviving Satyam.”
