Narayan Ramachandran to resign as Morgan Stanley country head

Financial services firm, Morgan Stanley today said its Indian chief executive and country head Narayan Ramachandran will step down from his current role next month.

In a release issued here, the company said that Ramachandran decided to resign from the full-time charge to pursue personal interests in entrepreneurship and public service.

Morgan Stanley's Asia COO, Scott Gaynor, will take the additional responsibility as company's acting country head for India.

A full-time India CEO will be announced in the future, the company said.

After joining Morgan Stanley in 1996, Ramachandran held senior global positions within Morgan Stanley Investment Management, notably heading the firm's global emerging markets and asset allocation businesses.

Morgan Stanley has 1,200 offices in 37 countries worldwide.
