Madhucon Projects to start 300 mw unit in June

Infrastructure major Madhucon Projects’ upcoming power plant at Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh is expected to commence generation by June-end.

The company’s step-down subsidiary — Simhapuri Energy — is executing the 1,920 mw project in phases. The first phase of 300 mw would be followed by another of similar capacity in September 2012.

“Another phase of 1,320 mw is being worked out and we are currently working on achieving financial closure for this phase,” S Vaikuntanathan, director (finance), told analysts.

He said the company is likely to achieve sales of about `2,250 crore for the year ending March 2012, which is a growth of about 32% over the `1,704 crore sales in fiscal 2010.
