KSK Power Ventur Plc posted a 29% rise in first-half profit boosted by its core power generation business, and said revenue streams would continue to grow in the second half.

London-based KSK, which operates power projects in India, said it saw additional revenue coming through with the start of three power generation units of 135mw each.

The company also said construction on the 3,600mw power project in Chhattisgarh in central India is underway.

In September, the company's Indian unit, KSK Energy Ventures Ltd, secured $3.6 billion in loans and equity for this thermal power project.

April-September net profit rose to $37.3 million from $28.9 million last year. Revenue grew more than three times to $82.6 million.

KSK Power shares, which have gained 12% after the company in July posted a higher pretax profit for the year ended in March, closed at 542.5 pence on Friday on the London Stock Exchange.
