Interest rate on Post Office savings deposits raised to 4%

The Committee on Small Savings announced rise in interest rate on Post Office savings deposits to 4%. Besides, link returns on small savings schemes with interest rates on government securities. The panel on small savings wants increase in annual PPF investment limit to Rs1 lakh. Gradually reduce commission for agents for small savings schemes, suggests the committee.
