Gold tumbles by Rs 160 on global cues

Gold prices declined by Rs 160 at Rs 14,630 per 10 gram in the bullion market here today on brisk selling by investors and stockists following weak global cues.
     
Marketmen said the bullion market witnessed emergence of fresh selling on the back of a weakening trend in the international markets.
   
Gold, which normally moves in tandem with the global market, fell 9.46 dollar to 913.24 dollar an ounce, the lowest since May 12, in London.
   
Silver slipped 0.2 per cent to 13.71 dollar an ounce.
   
Standard gold and ornaments plunged by Rs 160 each to Rs 14,630 and Rs 14,480 per 10 gram, respectively and sovereign lost Rs 100 to Rs 12,300 per piece of eight gram.
      
Silver ready dropped by Rs 200 to Rs 22,300 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 255 to Rs 22,250 per kg. Silver coins also fell by Rs 200 at Rs 29,000 for buying and Rs 29,100 for selling of 100 pieces.
