Former Stanchart India exec to return to bank: Report

Former Standard Chartered executive V Anantharaman is returning to the bank as managing director and head of its corporate finance and advisory business in India, the Economic Times reported on Saturday, without citing any sources.

The 46-year old investment banking veteran will help Stanchart build its equity capital markets team and is likely to join from October, the report said.

Anantharaman quit the British bank in 2006 to join Credit Suisse as the head of its investment banking department in India.

In his previous stint at Stanchart, Anantharaman was head of corporate advisory in India. Before that, he was Deutsche Bank India's head of global corporate finance.

A Standard Chartered spokesperson in India declined to comment on the report.
