Ferrari drives in with Rs2-3.5 cr cars

The Shreyans Group has officially been appointed as importer for Ferrari in India. The first Ferrari dealership will open in New Delhi within two to three months, followed by Mumbai in the second half of 2011.

It is good news for all Ferrari lovers. Ferrari, the Italian luxury sports car, will soon set up its shop in India.

The Shreyans Group has officially been appointed as importer for Ferrari in India. The first Ferrari dealership will open in New Delhi within two to three months, followed by Mumbai in the second half of 2011.

“We will establish a highly qualified network of Ferrari dealers across India to cater to the discerning needs of our customer,” Shreyans Group chairman Ashish Chordia said.

When asked if the company plans to open dealerships in other metros, Chordia said, “Initially, we will start  with two dealerships. However, we are exploring and evaluating the opportunities to have presence in other metros.”

Chordia did not give any details about the number of cars it plans to sell in the first year. He stated that there is a huge potential for Ferrari in India. “It is a unique segment and we do not have any benchmark size of the market,” he said.

Currently, India has about 50 Ferraris.

Shreyans will offer four models—- 8 cylinders Ferrari California (`2 crore), 458 Italia (`2.7-3 crore), 12 cylinders 599GTB Fiorano joined by the FF - the latest model launched by Ferrari (`3-3.5 crore).

The dealership will also be sided by the official Ferrari service, which will also be extended to existing Ferrari owners. Shreyans Group will setup an independent Ferrari India office with experienced professionals to manage the upcoming dealership network.

Shreyans Group distributes other premium brands like Ducati and Porche.
