Educomp fires pre-school biz head

Educomp Solutions, the Gurgaon-based education firm, said the head of the company’s pre-school brand ‘Roots and Wings’, Arun Khaitan, along with a few junior staff have been fired over performance. No further detail was available.

Educomp Infrastructure owns and operates pre-school brands such as EuroKids, Millennium School and Roots to Wings. Roots to Wings plans to set up 1,000 franchisees over the next three years.

Market buzz on Friday suggested enior management of the division has been given pink slips due to swindling of finances.

A company spokesperson denied this.

Educomp has been in the news for all the wrong reasons in the very recent past.
Shantanu Prakash, managing director of the company had blamed a bear cartel for an attack on the company’s share prices.

The company had said it was under malicious attack by vested groups to “use unethical and frivolous means to sully the image” of the organisation which has accused them of unethical corporate governance, and siphoning off funds to its subsidiary Educomp Infrastructure.
