Dish TV posts 13% jump in revenues

Dish TV, India’s top direct-to-home television service provider, has posted a 13.1% year-on-year jump in standalone operating revenues for the quarter ended December 2012 at Rs557.8 crore.

The company’s operating profit, or earnings before interest tax depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda), stood at Rs137.7 crore for October-December, a jump of  4.8% increase over the year ago.

Ebitda margin for the quarter stood at 24.7%.

The company said on a conference call that its subscription revenue was up 4.5% quarter on quarter (qoq), led by increase in subscriber base. Its net subscriber base increased almost 5% qoq to 10.5 million, while average revenue per user increased 0.6% qoq to Rs160.
