Alliance Francaise plans to expand presence in Ahmedabad

In providing the much-needed cultural thrust to the city, Alliance Francaise d' Ahmedabad has proved to be a dynamic institute giving a breath of fresh air to the city's cosmopolitan culture. General secretary of Alliance Francaise, Jean Claude Jacq's, is visiting the city today. He aims to expand the institute's functioning and bag investment plans.

Sharing his plans with DNA, A-F director Philip Martin says, "The general secretary manages more than 1000 Alliance Francaise's around the world. His position is very important as he is directly in touch with French President Nicolas Sarkozy and also with ministers of cultural affairs and foreign affairs. So, the general secretary is a link between the director, board of director and the French government. To expand the institute's wings and get financial assistance along with other investment plans, the general secretary is coming to the city."

He further adds that the institute may want to start Spanish classes along with French but it will have to get the green signal from higher authorities.
