Air India inks MoU with Slovenian airline; code share soon

The troubled national carrier Air India today entered into an agreement with the Slovenian national  airline, Adria Airways, to share their networks and said will soon ink a code share pact as well.

The agreement was signed by the civil aviation ministers of both the nations in the national capital.

The national carrier has also entered into an agreement with Aerodrome Ljubljana.

The agreement would usher a new era in civil aviation between India and Slovenia, by paving the way for Adria Airways to access Air India's network, by generating traffic beyond Delhi, and providing Air India with access to the East European market, besides providing better operability and commercial viability, and better yields, the release said.

At present, Adria Airways provides feed over Frankfurt/Munich and its hubs from the Balkans to North America for 400,000 passengers annually. With the signing of the MoU both the airlines aim to tap this potential after signing a code share agreement.
