Accenture CEO William Green to step down

Accenture chief executive William Green will step down in January and be replaced by Pierre Nanterme, a veteran of the technology outsourcing and consulting firm.

Green, 57, will continue as chairman, the company said. It did not change its business outlook for 2011.

"This is the right time to further strengthen Accenture's global leadership," Green said in a statement. He became CEO in 2004, and assumed the additional role of chairman since 2006.

Nanterme, 51, runs Accenture's global financial services operating group and is based in Paris. He has worked at Accenture for 27 years.
