Sensex dips in early trade below 25,000; Infosys top lose down 3%

The trademark index BSE Sensex, though began by gaining around 70 points, quickly slipped into the red territory in early trade. The Sensex is down 38.56 points at 24985.79 and the Nifty is down 9.90 points at 7449.70. 

Hindalco, Tata Power, BPCL, Punjab National Bank and Asian Paints are the top gainers till now. The top losers are Infosys, HUL, Bharti Airtel, HCL Tech and Coal India.

IT giant Infosys lost al most 3% after their quarter results on Friday. 

IndusInd Bank and Unichem Laboratories announced their results this morning. 

Unichem Laboratories' June quarter net profit fell 16.3% to Rs 30.2 crore as against Rs 36.1 crore in the same quarter a year ago while net sales went up 9.6% mainly led by exports. The stock is down 3.7% at Rs 188.

IndusInd Bank's net profit in the June quarter hiked by 25.7 percent compared the corresponding quarter in the same yea, while net interest income rose by almost 18%. However net interest margin fell from 3.755 to 3.66%. The stock is up 0.85 at Rs 540.50.

Indian markets are flat and comparable to other Asian bourses as traders awaited a flurry of key economic data this week, including Chinese growth figures, influenced the sentiments here. Among other Asian markets, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose by 0.48 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei was up by 0.38 per cent in early trade. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.17 per cent higher in Friday's trade.
