With an aim to create awareness about Down Syndrome, the video 'Dear Maa', is a letter from a child to his mother.
The foreword narrated by actress Juhi Chawla highlights the fact that every year, thousands of children afflicted by Down Syndrome are aborted in the womb and if allowed to live, they are often considered as a liability by the society.
The video is dedicated to and features clips of 20-year-old Salman Wadiwala. Born with Down Syndrome, doctors had predicted that he would live only for six days after his birth. However, proving their predictions wrong, the boy lived 20 joyful years, before breathing his last in April 2015.
The video is written by Saurabh Jain and created by Lowfundwala Productions for Specialsoul.co, which is managed by Salman's twin sisters Alina and Sana Wadiwala. The blog aims at guiding people who have special kids, in tackling everyday problems like social interaction with others.
