Food review: Stars and Stripes is an old Bangalore favourite

There’s nothing as satisfying as a well-made chicken curry and rice that reminds one of the food made at home. Stars and Stripes on Brigade Road, opposite Eva Mall, is one such place that has Bangaloreans swearing by what’s served there, right from the easy meals to the Indian and Continental fare.

A small restaurant, which has American stars and stripes painted on its banners and menu, it was one of the few places to offer burgers and steaks, in the American fast food style. Slowly, this joint incorporated Chinese and a lot of Indian dishes too,  in its menu too.

With their items priced between Rs50 to Rs250, you can easily have a sumptuous meal for two within Rs500. Some of the must try outs in this place include the Chicken Curry and Rice and Mutton Curry and Rice meal options. They also make really good Egg Chilly, Chicken 65 and Keema Mutter.

Their indigenous versions of the burger is a hit with the regulars here, served with slices of onion, tomato and cucumber and sometimes even a fried egg tossed in on request.

Their roast beef steak burger is a must check-out, as is their mayonnaise, which can leave you licking your fingers long after you’re done with your meal.
