Here is a treat for all the fans of Chinese cuisine - Beijing’s culinary expert Chef Yan Jun has flown down to India to craft a special menu for Hotel Sahara Star.

The festival promises a gastronomical journey of authentic Chinese cuisine. “The menu offers top end cuisine including Thai, Chinese, Mandarin, Burmese and other Pacific influences with an emphasis on discovery, flavour and balance,” says Chef Jun.

“Catering to different palates and tastes the menu includes a variety of dishes like the La Zhing Ning Meng Ya Fang (Prawns coated duck with spicy Lemon Sauce), Yu Xiang Da Xia (Sauted prawns with Tian Fu sauce), Bai Zua Lu Sun (asparagus with soy sauce) and to end your meal indulge in delicious Zong Zi ( Red bean and dates stuffed Sticky rice ball),” he adds.

Chef Yan is one of the most versatile and contemporary chefs the world of gastronomy has ever witnessed. He brings along 20 years of rich hands experience and is renowned exponent of authentic Chinese cuisine, blending culture, taste and history in his recipes with many undiscovered facets of the oriental cuisine including culinary treasures from the Canton, the Szechwan, the Hunan and other regions known for their distinctive cooking styles and ingredients.

The Dragon Boat Festival is a significant holiday celebrated by the Chinese and also the one with the longest history. The festival is celebrated  by racing dragon shaped boats along with ceremonial offerings of rice and  delicious preparations of Zong-Zi (glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in reed or bamboo leaves) and many more traditions.
