'Bangaloreans are my kind of audience', says Ash Chandler

Entertainer Ash Chandler, who kicks off the comedy nights at Opus, is all praise for the average Bangalorean.

What’s in store tonight for Bangaloreans in your show?
I’m not going to give away too much. But, I am going to assure the crowd that comes by that my show is going to be filled with pure entertainment, with a mix of music, comedy and a whole lot of fun.

Have you performed in Bangalore before?
I have done quite a few shows. In fact, I do as many as three shows a month. But, most of these are corporate and private shows. This one, in that sense, will be my first public, ticketed event.

Do you like performing here?
I like the Bangalore audience. They are a lot of fun. They hold an added edge over many others because they are quite an intelligent lot. They are educated, well-travelled and well-read and are a lot of fun. Considering my shows touch upon things from all across the planet, this works perfectly well for me. This makes them my kinda audience.

The Bangalorean lot is quite an interactive bunch, you’d say?
I’m actually going to check that out today. My previous shows were corporate and private shows, making it easier for me since they were already in a ‘fun’ state of mind. This show will be my test to see how the crowd reciprocates.

Your role in Guzaarish won you quite a few accolades. What’s your next release?
My next film is Love Wrinkle Free. It is an English film, where I play Savio, the lead character in the film. The film revolves around a series of incidents that happen in Savio’s life. It should be releasing sometime soon. The film also has Shernaz Patel.
