Rick’s ramblings: Quick breakup, quicker engagement
Rick Roy

I recently broke up with someone, I thought was the love of my life, but I thought it was getting too much so I broke up and then within a month, I found out he got engaged, that too, through a picture on Instagram, a finger with a ring on it and a caption “it happened ultimately” (well, the ring was terrible). Anyway the bad ring didn’t make the situation any better. I guess, all of us after a breakup, always have this fantasy that we end up being all sexy, fabulous, lying on our yacht in Saint Tropez with a hot Italian husband/boyfriend making out in the middle of the ocean drinking Chrystal and caviar, while the ex dies ugly, loveless, lonely and poor.

You know the usual post breakup fantasy, but knowing your ex has suddenly found love or whatever that is, before you this quickly and then got engaged, is a pure disaster. A validating sex cleanse was necessary it’s like ‘you might be engaged, but the hottest person on the GQ cover thinks I am hot as hell in bed and wants to do me...’

Anyway so we head to Khar Social, my favourite watering hole, and bammm bump into the engaged ex. Obviously, I decided to play all cool, I walked up to him and said, ‘Congrats” and he was like for what. I said, on your engagement silly and he was like ‘What? I didn’t, my brother did’ and he winked, and said, ‘the one I love ran away remember because I was too much’ and suddenly, there were violins playing all around me and Urmila started singing again, but a different song this time — Haan Mujhe Pyaar, Pyaar hua Huaa Allah Miya. I giggled and said, ‘What rubbish, I never ran away’ and bamm, we were back in action together, who knew a fake engagement scare was all I needed to get us back together with the ex... What a crazy week I have had...
