Holi is a festival that welcomes spring. The weather is balmy and there is fragrance and celebration all around. It is associated with the enduring love between Lord Krishna and Radha. Holi is extended over a longer period in Vrindavan and Mathura, which closely affiliated to Lord Krishna. It is a tradition that men and woman dance around and sing special songs as they spray coloured water on each other. On Tarot cards, it denotes love, laughter, harmony and heavenly blessings. It’s celebration is the greatest pleasure and highest form of purity.

Colours are one of the most universal of symbol and have esoteric significance since ancient times. Colours are vibration of light, which can be broken into the seven basic colours of spectrum i.e. red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet, which causes a strong impact upon our emotions on this day. The vibrant festival adds fragrance to life.

Our ancient scriptures correspond colours to seven musical notes, the seven major chakras, the seven virtues and vices, the seven days of week and seven faculties of soul. Astrologically, there are seven planets i.e. Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn. As such, each colour represents its own specific colour. The ancient Greeks associated number 7 with healing power, occult intelligence and highest stage of illumination.

On Holi, it is believed that a person who performs anushthan on this particular day, all the seven planets attain eternal bliss and prosperity in life. Its recitation brings success in career, foreign travel, education, finance, marriage and health.
