You have been an MLA and leader of opposition; what issues are you fighting for?

The state is suffering as their plenty issues that are unresolved. Farmers, youth, labour, poor all are upset with the government. We have challenged the government in the assembly and on the streets, but the government paid no attention. We are raising issues of farmers, youth and labourers to show the real face of the people.

Your campaign is based on promising a better deal for the area as Cong is all set to come to power. Why so? Could you not perform as much as you wanted while being an MLA of the oppn?

Even a handful of us Congress MLAs have most effectively taken on the brute strength of BJP in the assembly. What we are telling the people is that, they have seen me perform as an opposition MLA, I got work done for my area. Now they should vote us back and with Congress in power, our government will work wonders for Nokha. They are being reminded of the works done under the 2008 Congress government.

How apprehensive are you of the Hanuman Beniwal candidate in Nokha

Third front is a pipe dream in state. People here vote only for the two main parties. That is no challenge. People today want to vote Congress to power.

You say Cong is coming to power - most important question - Who’ll be the CM?

We are a disciplined party. We work as per the vision of our President Rahul Gandhi. Once we have the numbers, there will be a democratic process where observers from Delhi will seek the opinion of the MLAs who have been elected. This will be communicated to Rahul Gandhi and he will take a decision. But one thing is for sure the person who will be a chief minister will be a person born from the womb of a farmer.
