The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is all set to begin from September 19 in the UAE. The eight franchises along with their players are all gearing up for the cash-rich tournament.

While this is the 13th edition, the legacy to turning players into legends started way back since 2008. The IPL is now more than a decade old and there has been a shift in the generation of cricketers.

However, there are a few cricketers who have been active in the professional circuit since the inception of IPL and are still active. So let's have a look at players who played in 2008 IPL and will play in 2020 season - then vs now.

He captained CSK in every season, leaving the two when the franchise faced a ban in the IPL. During those two seasons, Dhoni represented the Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS).

As for CSK, the team has lifted the trophy thrice. The wicketkeeper-batsman has played 190 IPL matches so far and has scored 4432 runs at an average of 42.20 and a strike rate of 137.85.
