Understanding and being aware about the importance of voting, a bride named Manisha from Lucknow has decided to leave for her husband’s home only after casting the ballot on February 19, which will mark the third phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Manisha got married on February 18 and was very adamant to cast her vote. The bride delayed her bidaai (ceremony where the girl leaves her parents home to go to her in-laws) so that she could vote. She proposed the idea to her in laws, who were supportive and readily agreed to it. Now she will leave for groom’s home on February 21. She said few Election Commission officials visited their house and made them aware about the importance of voting, which led her to take such a bold move.
