BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi filed his nominations from Varanasi for the Lok Sabha elections 2014 on Thursday. "I am grateful to the people of Kashi for the love and support shown. I haven't been sent by anyone, it's the call by mother ganga that brings me here. If God and mother ganga's blessings are with me and I come to power, I will change the face of kashi and the whole world will look up to this wonderful place. Branding, marketing, technological upgradation, with all of this, Kashi will emerge powerful as China in terms of development," he said.
Modi offered flowers at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel statue during his roadshow and as soon as he left, members of the Samajwadi party cleansed the statue with gangajal.
